Balandra

Our last day with Rozanne and Madison was spent driving to Playa Tecolote and Playa Balandra, two beautiful beaches just north of La Paz. Tecolote is exposed to the San Lorenzo Channel and was quite windy, though still packed with visitors from the cruise ship that was in port.
We have anchored in Balandra Bay, so it was interesting to see it from a different perspective. Marv hiked to the top of a ridge between the two beaches to discover a geocache; the rest of us stretched out on the beach to enjoy the hot sun. At Balandra, we waded through a quarter mile of shallows to see the famous balancing rock. We went with a watchful eye for sting rays (saw a couple swim away as we approached), and benefited from the good exercise for the legs!
